Precision Control of Paste Filling Machines
Paste filling machines are primarily used for viscous liquids or paste products, such as toothpaste, lubricants, and similar substances. Precision control for these machines is more complex than liquid filling due to the higher viscosity and reduced flowability of paste products.
Precision Control Methods:
1. Piston Control
Piston-based paste filling machines operate by pushing the paste into containers through the reciprocating motion of a piston. The stroke length and speed of the piston can be precisely adjusted to achieve accurate filling volumes.
Advantages: High precision; ideal for filling high-viscosity pastes.
Disadvantages: Requires excellent sealing performance to prevent paste leakage.
2. Screw Control
Screw-based filling machines use a spiral propulsion mechanism to transfer the paste into containers. The screw's speed and feeding volume can be finely tuned to ensure consistent filling quantities.
Advantages: Suitable for pastes with high viscosity and large particles; enables control of both filling speed and volume.
Disadvantages: Sensitive to temperature and humidity, necessitating regular cleaning and maintenance.
3. Flow Meter Control
Flow meter technology, commonly used in liquid filling, can also be applied to paste filling, especially for pastes mixed with liquid components. It monitors paste flow rates and adjusts the feed rate to ensure accuracy.
Advantages: High precision; adaptable to pastes of varying viscosities.
Disadvantages: May experience delays in response time for extremely high-viscosity pastes.
4. Pressure and Temperature Control
For very thick pastes, control systems may include pressure and temperature sensors to maintain set parameters, ensuring smooth paste flow, preventing blockages, and improving filling accuracy.
Advantages: Facilitates smooth operation for challenging high-viscosity pastes.
Disadvantages: Adds complexity to the control system and may require advanced monitoring.
